Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to make clear the relationship between students' motivation for learning and their career development in the case of Kobe Harbor Polytechnic College. The scale of motivation for learning was measured by a survey that was carried out on 73 Polytechnic students. Also, career development was investigated in the same survey by using a scale of career development (Sakayanagi 1999). As a result, four factors were found in students' motivation for learning, as follows: "expectation of specialty development", "expectation of acquiring practical skills", "expectation of good relationship with teachers", and "expectation of good relationship with friends". Students were divided into two groups by their career goals! one was a group of students who wanted to work in the harbor industry, and the other was a group of students who did not. The relationship Between students' motivation for learning and their career development were examined by using multi-regression analysis of each group. As a result, both "concern about their own career" and "plans for their own career" were influenced by "expectation of specialty development" and "expectation of good relationship with teachers" in the group of students who wanted to work in the harbor industry. From these results, it was suggested that students' aspiration to an occupation had an important role in forming the relationship between motivation for learning and career development in this case.

Abstract
As one of the optional classes in the general course in the high schools
of Category III, we tried practicing experiments on the subject of the
combination of science and technology. The purpose of this trial is for
students to learn science and refined scientific skills, which is the basis
of technology. For example of this, the high Tc superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-δ
is synthesized and typical superconducting properties such as zero-resistance,
Meissner effect (flux expulsion) are learnt. Synthesis includes weighing
original materials and the repeated process of molding and sintering. With
strong motivation to observe the magnetic levitation of what they synthesized
themselves, students are very much encouraged by their curiosity, resulting
in the strong concentration on this task. Students found their own way
in the course of the molding process, and proposed their own ideas for
improvement of magnetic levitation of a rare earth-based magnet. Our next
plan for this practice is to establish an automatic measurement system
as a target of quantitative measurement of the properties of high Tc superconductors.

Abstract
I performed a study of members' participation in technology instructor study groups and events related of subject education. It became clear that within technology and home economics, which are subjects in which placement of multiple instructors at one school is difficult, the role of independent study groups is significant and that study group participation results in the sharing of information and the invigoration of the subject education. Similarly, study groups also effectively serve to assure instructor quality for new instructors and students aspiring to be instructors.

Abstract
At Preliminary to this study, we qualitatively researched students' activities
while making chopsticks in industrial education classes at Junior High
School. As a result of this preliminary research, we found that students
were concerned about the straight form and smooth touch of their products, chopsticks,
and we found that students didn't have a diversity of evaluation points
regarding their products. During the next phase of this study, we used
a questionnaire on students' evaluations of their products, shishi-odoshi.
As a result, we found that students' ambiguous evaluation points became
concrete and were in focus through the production process, and this affects
their evaluation of products and how they introduce students into products
at the beginning of a unit in industrial education.
