This study is a fundamental study investigating ideal methodology in the important and meaningful area of information ethics education. We analyzed the differences, by age, in intrinsic structures of information ethics awareness among students in the six years span from 3M year junior high school to 2nd year university students.
A survey was conducted concerning of information ethics awareness and we compared the results by school grade, differences in ethics awareness and their qualitative characteristics. Further, applying factor analysis and cluster analysis to the results, we extracted inherent factors and showed characteristics and structural relations between those factors.
By structurally comparing those factors, we inspected differences between the school grades in intrinsic characteristics of information ethic awareness and show the intrinsic structure of fundamental, essential information ethics awareness for information ethics education.

This study investigates the effect of certain contributing factors and learning aids that help junior high school students in drawing intelligible design sketches. The kinds learning aids used in this study were still-image database, moving-image database, textbook, information packages, student works, teacher's works and students' design sketches. Analysis was for intelligibility, drawing technique, materials' dimensions, originality, number of fundamental parts and ease to which functions could be added. Students' design sketches (131) were analyzed for positive factors and usefulness of learning aids. Results showed that size of materials, textbooks and drawing technique are positive contributing factors and that of still-image databases were the most referred to learning aid.

In recent years, the research and development of bipedal robots have been actively advanced. Robot and human ambulation are different however, and have differing energy consumptions. In this research, we analyzed the motion of a bipedal balance-type passive dynamic walking toy for its educational use. Passive dynamic walking toys are comparatively simple structures that walk down a gentle incline because of the combination of gravitational force and instability of equilibrium. In terms of teaching material applicability, we measured the cycle period of its walk and analyzed the motion. From there, the influence of various elements in its walking were considered.

In recent years, household products have attained high performance due to the embedding of micro processors in them. With a view to nurture a grounding in manufacturing, it is necessary to develop lessons and learning materials for the study of not only software, but also of hardware technologies. In this paper, we propose robot learning material for "Program and Measurement/Control" with an aim to deepen technological understanding from both the hardware and the software sides. We introduce a practical instruction plan for making a "navigator-robot" that is able to move while keeping a constant distance between itself and a wall surface. Concerning the measurement aspect of the robot, the plan has activities of writing a program and assembling a distance sensor. To promote student ability to devise and plan, in the production of the distance sensor, students construct the circuit on a breadboard by reading the circuit diagram only and arranging electronic parts and jumper lines. The proposed learning material is evaluated from the result of 16 hours of conducted classes, and its applicability has been articulated.

In previous report, we discussed the importance of a learning plan of concepts of efficiency for the purpose of systematization of energy conservation in technical education at technical high schools. Based on that, we have utilized the learning plan in a thermal efficiency experiment using familiar heating machinery and after having made learners produce both a Pelton wheel dynamo and a simple torque meter, in an energy conversion efficiency experiment using a waterwheel. We report here on the positive effect of enhancing "understanding" and "energy-conservation awareness".

Presented in this study are the workshop presentation of the 2005 Aichi World Exposition, and practical lessons for object-making classes aimed at primary and junior high school students and manufacture-related classes at a junior high school. Based on the facts obtained from these activities and the results of a questionnaire, object-making activities of different structures are discussed in terms of their features, advantages, problems and other considerations. In addition, the educational effects of the object-making activities are looked at from the viewpoints of participants and administrators. We consider the examinations here to be valuable in the training of practical abilities in students.
