A teaching material for subject research practiced in technical high school is proposed. In this research, a synthetic system is developed to design and produce an audio loudspeaker system. In the design stage, the CAE technique is introduced for prediction of acoustic characteristics of the loudspeaker. In the measuring system, an FFT analyzer by using a personal computer with an AD converter card and simple anechoic room for the sound pressure measurement are proposed, which can be realized in technical high school. A pair of back loaded horn type loudspeaker are designed and produced to compare the measurement result with the analytical result. As a result of verifying the system by the comparison of analytical and measurement result of the acoustic characteristic, the effectiveness of the developed system in this study was confirmed.

Title: A Historical Study on Provincial Fisheries Training Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce in Chiba Prefecture
Auther: Takafumi SASAKI
題目:千葉県における農商務省管轄府県水産講習所の歴史的役割
著者:佐々木貴文
We examine the Chiba Prefecture Fisheries Training Institute, analyzing its courses, curricula and thereby its educational history, in order to clarify the historical role of post-primary fishery education under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, which controlled pre-war policy and influenced the development of the fishing industry.? The following observations are made;
(1) From its establishment until February, 1909, the Chiba Prefecture Fisheries Training Institute focused mainly on promoting fisheries in the local area, but from March of that year, in response to incentives to promote pelagic fishing from the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce, it established a pelagic fisheries course and began training workers for the pelagic fishing industry.
(2) This course then influenced other educational institutions in Chiba Prefecture, and training workers for the pelagic fishing industries became a special characteristic of fishery education throughout Chiba Prefecture.

Title: A Study on the Characteristics of the Resistance due to the Blunt Aft End of a Body
−Development of a Method to Estimate the Resistance due to the Aft End−

It is not easy to treat analytically the flow behind the blunt aft end
of a body, because the flow accompanies complicated phenomena. The flow
behind a ship with the transom stern, which we take up as a body with the
blunt aft end, is far more complicated, because the free surface is added
as a boundary. The purpose of the present study is to develop a method
to estimate the resistance due to the transom stern. Development of a method
to estimate the resistance due to remaining following waves, one of two
main components of stern waves, is tried in this paper. Aiming to develop
an analytical method convenient to use for transom stern form design, trochoidal
wave which can treat non-linear wave also is used to describe the above
mentioned complicated flow. As a result, a practical method to estimate
the resistance due to the transom stern has been developed.

Title: Production of Engine Cars/Ships Using TiNi Shape Memory Alloy Wire
Auther: Yasuhiro MATSUNAGA,Yasuhiro MIZUNO
題目:TiNi形状記憶合金ワイヤーを用いたエンジンカー/エンジンシップの製作
著者:松永泰弘,水野靖弘
In a university classroom, we practiced building an engine made with shape
memory alloy wire (a functional material), to test such a project's suitability
as a tool for teaching energy conversion in "technology and object-making"
in technology and home economic courses. At first, we demonstrated for
the university students the properties of the shape memory alloy, and then
the basic structure of the engines using two pulleys and the TiNi shape
memory alloy wire. After that, the students constructed the engine cars/ships.
Through experiments?and trial and error?they measured the temperature at
which the wire recovers its form and ascertained optimal conditions for
producing power.

Title: Making Bronze Mirrors: A Friendship Project
Auther: Satoshi EMA
題目:フレンドシップ事業での銅鏡製作について
著者:江馬諭
This study reports on a project, beginning in fiscal 2001 and continuing
for three years, to produce bronze mirrors in an object-making class.?
All eighty-six students who participated in the program were able to complete
a mirror.? A survey of participants revealed that they felt tremendous
interest during the casting stage and upon completion of their mirrors-and
also that they found the tedious grinding operation difficult.? However,
the majority of participants expressed overall satisfaction with the project.?
From the above, it seems that bronze-mirror production may be a suitable
project for an object-making class.? In reflective essays, the university
students who supported the participants pointed out the importance of understanding
children's behavior and feelings and of spending time together.? Thus,
those who played supervisory roles seem able to develop practical leadership
skills through activities such as this one.
