Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between students' thinking before manufacturing and their self-efficacy, i.e., students' perceptions about the possibilities of their own performance. We measured students' thinking before manufacturing and then their self-efficacy using GSES (general self-efficacy scale). A multiple regression analysis was computed to examine the relationship between the two measures. The results indicated that three factors of thinking were related to self-efficacy, 'examination of processing operation,' postulate of performance' and 'cognition of materials to use.' In particular, the GSES factor, 'anxiety about failure' had a great impact on 'postulate of performance.' In addition, it was proved that there were strong interrelationships among those three factors in the high self-efficacy students group. In contrast, in the low self-efficacy group minimal interrelationships were observed among the subcategories of thinking, suggesting the necessity of effective educational guidance concerning students' thinking.

Title: Development of Musical Instruments Using Rain Drops
Author: Yoichi NAKAZONO, Akihisa TAKAYAMA
題目:雨垂れを利用した楽器の開発
著者:中園与一・高山明久
Abstract
A water droplet generates sound as it falls on a water surface and destroys
air bubbles. When different lengths of resonance tubes are attached to
the sound, scales of a wide variety of frequencies are produced. The objective
of this study was to discover optimal conditions for designing musical
instruments that generate peaceful sounds. Effects of the length and diameter
of the resonance tube, the diameter of the nozzle at the water jet, and
the materials with which they are made, as well as theoretical predictions
of resonance, were studied to discover the optimal designs for musical
instruments using rain drops. We produced a musical instrument with an
acoustic range of two octaves and a half (G to D#), capable of musical
performance.

Abstract
The Stirling engine models are utilized to the creative education, the technical education and the engineering education in the junior high school, the high school, the technical college and the university.
In this study, an engine model for the junior high school and two engine models for the high school and the technical college and the university were designed and manufactured for the aids to teaching. Furthermore, the balance type torque meter which could measure the engine performance was developed. In addition, the simple prediction method of the maximum shaft power for changing the model engines in to the educational engine.
As the result, it was found that the balance type torque meter could measure the shaft power of the model engine. From these experimental results, the authors obtained the following empirical equation.
Lsmax=0.0185.(Pm.Vsw.f)2 (W)
Where, Lsmax is maximum shaft power, Pm is the mean pressure in the engine, Vsw is the piston stroke volume (the α type is expansion space side volume
and β and γtype are the compression space side volume), f : frequency in the cycle.

Title: Study of Network System for Meteorological Observation Equipment
Author: Makoto YAMAMOTO, Makoto IIJIMA
題目:気象観測装置のネットワーク化の研究
著者:山本誠・飯島眞理
Abstract
In this study, an old type meteorological observation equipment was successfully connected to the Local Area Network and the Internet, and weather data display system was original developed.
This system arranges and processes intelligibly output data of the equipment to display a computer screen, and it transfers simultaneously to WWW server.
As a result, the newest measurement data could always be displayed appropriately and it was also able to browse weather data via the Internet significantly for improvement of informational sharing.

Abstract
In the present technical high school in Japan, the term for experience working used in the syllabus is not clearly defined.
Therefore, this is to show the cooperstion between students / schools and the sponsoring companies, the social acknowledgement by engineers, and also the school curriculum, in terms of introducing the experiences of the work place, which refers the terms used in the vocational education in Germany and it is present situation.
