Title: Brightness of Flame and Letter Vision in Using Flame-Lighting
Author: Hideaki SATO

題目:燃焼光の明るさとそれによる文字の見え方
著者:佐藤秀昭

Abstract

Prior to electric lighting, candles or oil lamp were used for lighting. The brightness of the names was much darker by comparison with the electric light. In this paper, the luminous nun and intensity of flames were measured and compared with those of an incandescent lamp(100V, 60W). In addition, letter vision in using name-lighting was studied for the relation between luminance contrast, adaptation luminance and visual acuity. It was found that it was barely possible to read letters of 3mm × 3mm in size under conditions where the illuminance of paper (reflection factor ρ = 50 %) was 0.61x of a small candle, and the luminance contrast C was 92 %, and where the distance from the paper to the eye was 60cm.

Keywords: name-Lighting, Luminous Flux, Luminous Intensity, Visual Acuity.

Title: Technology Education Database in the Web Having the Order of Repeating Index
Author: Hiroshi KAMEYAMA, Shiyuko KOKUZAWA

題目:頻度数順配列をもつWeb上の技術教育データベース
著者:亀山 寛・石澤志由子

Abstract

This study describes the development of a "Gijutsu Kyoiku" (Technology Education) database which can be searched with an original method for the order of repeating index. A searching system was developed that has the order of repeating index with three items of 1) keyword, 2) region and keyword and 3) author, and the simplified order of repeating index with title keyword. In the case of a small or middle database in a particular subject, the searching system having the order of repeating index is very effective since this system can contribute to analyze quantitave changes of subjects. Further, we were able to construct a Web database for this system. The Web database made it possible to use the system irrespective of time and space restrictions.

Title: Development of a Vibration Acceleration Meter for Low Frequency Range
Author: Masashi UCHIKUNE

題目:低周波域加速度振動計の開発
著者:内久根聖志

Abstract

This paper reports on the development of a system for the measurement of vibration acceleration on living bodies over a low frequency range. A vibration acceleration meter with particularly high sensitivity is required for the study of the influence exercised by the high-speed running of vehicles or trains on living bodies. The equipment constructed for the said purpose is comprised of an acceleration detection device, an active-type low-pass filter, a power source regulator, and an operational amplifier. The test conducted with the equipment in question resulted in a value of 525 mV/mm for the displacement of the pendulum and ale Output voltage. This value reveals that a high voltage is outputted in relation to minute displacement, and ensures that sensitivity is sufficiently high. With regard to the dynamic characteristics of the vibration acceleration meter as a whole, a value constant enough to maintain 143 mV/ms-2 was shown in a frequency range of from 1 Hz to 6.5 Hz. The fact that a constant value was shown implies that an identical calibration curve can be used in the range referred to above. It is ascertained from this that measurement is possible over the above-mentioned frequency range.
As a result of this measurement of acceleration in a vertical direction at high-speed with a vibration acceleration meter developed in this manner attached to the driver' head, a successful outcome in a frequency range from 1.6 to 2.3 Hz was obtained. It is thus warranted that the equipment can be put to practical use.

Title: The Study on the Skill Evaluation of the Brush Painting : About the Force in the Parallel Direction to the Coating and the paint quantity of the brush
Author: Yoshihisa OKAMURA, Makoto KURIBAYASHI

題目:刷毛塗りの技能評価に関する研究−塗り方向の力および塗料量について−
著者:岡村吉永・栗林 誠

Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate coating skill for the purpose of improving of coating learning in woodworking in industrial arts and homemaking. With particular attention paid to the change of the force in the coating which is applied to the direction parallel to surface from the brush at the time of coating, the ways to measure and evaluate this was examined. The coating corrugation that displayed the Change of the force in the measured parallel direction to the coating reflected the level of experience and manner of working well. The results evaluated from 3 items (the initial painting time, the peak of the force, the quantity of paint on the brush) indicate that there are differences in the degree of experience for the most part. Further studies need to be conducted, but it is felt that the 3 evaluation items can become an index that measures the experience of the brush painting skill independently or in combination.

Title: A Study of the Screen Constitution for VDT Text Writing in Fundamental of Information Science and Technology
Author: Haruhisa YAMAGUCHI

題目:情報基礎におけるVDTテキストライティングのための画面構成
著者:山口晴久

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to determine the optical screen configuration for first-year junior high school students studying the fundamental of information science and technology. A study of easy-to-write screen configurations to be used when reading Japanese text in VDT is one of the most important factors in the fundamental of information science and technology class. The reading performance of first-year junior high school was studied as they wrote textbooks while VDT conditions such as font size, screen brightness, text and background color were altered. The performance of first-year junior high school students was also compared with the results for a group of university students.
The findings were as follows: 1) the optical screen configuration for the first-year junior high school students was somewhat different from that for university students; 2) the optical letter size for the first-year junior high school students was determined to be 18 points which was greater than that required for the university students which was 14 points, 3) ideally each students should be able to adjust his or her own screen configuration in order to satisfy their individual needs. However, if default screen conditions for writing were to be used in first-year junior high school classrooms, the optical background color would be white, the text black, the brightness-contrast high, the letter style Minchoutai, with continuous sentences in a 18 font.
